Quando non puoi tornare indietro – When You Can’t Go Back

Very happy to share that When You Can’t Go Back will be screened at Claude Bernard University Lyon 1 -20th of May 2026- as part of the initiative “What Do Minorities Really Need?”.

The documentary follows the story of Obaida, a young Syrian student who arrived in Rome after the war changed his life forever. Through his personal journey, the film explores migration, identity, and Syria beyond media stereotypes, giving space to people, culture, and everyday life.

Over the years, the documentary has been presented at international festivals including Bellaria Film Festival, MedFilm Festival, and Visioni dal Mondo.

Happy to see this story continue to travel and open new spaces for dialogue. 🎬

Molto felice di condividere che Quando non puoi tornare indietro – When You Can’t Go Back sarà proiettato alla Claude Bernard University Lyon 1 nell’ambito dell’iniziativa “What Do Minorities Really Need?”.

Il documentario segue la storia di Obaida, un giovane studente siriano arrivato a Roma dopo che la guerra ha cambiato per sempre la sua vita. Attraverso il suo percorso umano, il film prova a raccontare migrazione, identità e Siria lontano dai cliché televisivi, restituendo spazio alle persone, alle passioni e alla cultura che sopravvive anche nei momenti più difficili.

Negli anni il documentario è stato presentato in festival internazionali come il Bellaria Film Festival, il MedFilm Festival e Visioni dal Mondo.
